Heats quickly, nice size
Heats up quickly and is a nice, compact size. Works well for doing a quick reflow on a board (or heating up your cold coffee - heh heh).

Perfect desoldering and flow solution
Ordered this to solder surface mount ICs. Worked great! Even temperature distribution across the plate. Temperature indicator wasn't exact, but within a couple degrees. Which is good enough.When I had to remove a couple components for a different project, this heating plate worked fantastic. It very quickly heated up the components. They were so easy to remove. I'll never go back to using a soldering iron to desolder parts with lots of leads.

They are fantastic and heat evenly
I use these for hand pouring custom soft plastic fishing lures, even heat and precision temperatures are a must when detail pouring. I use 2 of these and they are both perfectly calibrated. I originally got them for a stand by while I wait for parts for my 2 thousand dollar surface heat plate. These work so well, I'm not going to repair my overpriced unit.

Steer clear
I would not buy this again. Energy drain is enormous when it pulses to heat the platter. If you have LED bulbs in the room you are in for a light show. Even filament bulbs pulse. Not a lot of design consideration on this product. Should have returned it!

Works for surface mounted components
I used this to place surface mounted components on a PCB and it did the job. Takes a while to heat up but it'll get there.
