Durable, great for home practice
We bought this for my 6 year old who is in “pre-team” competitive level practice gymnastics and she loves it. It is durable, offers good support, and the wider base ensures it doesn’t tip while she practices her beam skills. It is a bit short, so that even my 6year old can’t complete a full cartwheel on it unless she starts on the floor in front of the beam, so if you’re trying to do skills like that you will need two. The Velcro is very durable and it connects to a floor mat we have (different brand) and never budges.

Look nowhere else. A PERFECT in-home/gym practice beam for kids. DURABLE AND AFFORDABLE!
We have twin (3yr) old daughters and a (6yr) old son who absolutely love to tumble with a great interest in gymnastics. We we're desperately in search of a balance beam, where quality was not sacrificed for price.Well...... We found it! We were a bit skeptical, given that it was constructed from durable styrofoam, but after receiving the product (we bought 2) we were DELIGHTED. It's covered in a canvas like material, lightweight, and extremely durable. Although flexible, they don't lose rigidity. They've been flipped on, jumped on, trampled on, and used as "sleds" to slide down the stairs (not their intended use) and they still hold true to their form.At 4' (ft) long, this is a PHENOMENAL product for practicing or beginners, at literally a fraction of the cost of any other comparable or actual balance beam. BUY BUY BUY!

Great practice beam!
My daughter had been begging for gymnastics equipment for months. I actually had a different beam in mind but when I went to purchase it, it was out of stock. That lead me to this beam which ended up being perfect! Our house is not very big and I was concerned about space. I got her 2 sections. She can easily do cartwheels and practice back walkovers. The beam is light enough that she can carry it around the house, put together folded in half at the velcro, without help but firm enough that it doesn't give when she's on it. This beam is the perfect practice beam. I love that you can customize it's length to fit your needs. Definitely recommend!

Almost perfect.
Great, is exactly as described. Seems durable enough but will have to see over time. The 4 feet is small. While I understand you can buy additional pieces, and we will have to, if it were just a foot longer my girls ages 7 and 10 would be fine. 5 feet would be great but then they wouldn't have me buying another one right? Only reason for not giving it 5 stars is it slips a lot. While I understand some slipping, this is a bit much and I will have to address it. A little backing would have made it 5 stars. We have area rugs, hard wood, and a tumbling mat and none of those help. I expect thick carpet would be much better.

Good for what its worth
I'm pleased. This is not a "real" beam, by any means, but it works well as an at-home training beam. It's storable and we can do all basic beam work on it. My kids love it, but they aren't doing anything more than walking across it and attempting lever hops. It's much softer than a real beam, but it is firm enough to do handstands, leaps, walkovers, etc. It does feel different, though - toe turns are harder because of the softer surface, and it's hard to grip the beam firmly when doing handstands and cartwheels. A gymnast is used to being able to grip the beam a certain way to help with balance when upside down, but since this beam is essentially hard foam, it wiggles a little too much to get a balancing grip on the beam. The beam is also a different shape- it widens at the base, which feels different under your hands when you butterfly the beam. I'll probably get better as I adjust, but it is a lot easier to hold a handstand on a real beam. The two beams connected together well enough. Its not seamless, but I didn't expect it to be, since it's just velcro on the underside. The end of the beam will pop up a bit if I jump hard on the other end, but I do think you could get away with a backhandspring.Hopefully it holds up over time.

Great addition for obstacle course!
This is a great addition to our obstacle courses in kids martial arts classes. They are just what I was looking for. Firm enough for kids, a little squishy but usable for adults, and safe if anyone falls on it. They are so light our 4 year old students can carry them. We ordered 2 and we use them as a balance beam, for jumping from one to the other, and for jumping over in obstacle courses.

Good compromise piece of equipment where space is at a premium, get two if you need it for more advanced skills.
My daughter is an 8 year old budding gymnast. We have a large mat for her to train on and one section of tumble trak beam. It isnt as nice as a full beam and lacks some of the firmness, but it is moveable, stable, and stores easily. It has also been holding up well to the use she has been giving it. The length on it is somewhat limiting as she cant do cartwheels etc, on it. I debated going to a full beam but that would just be to much for our space. I have been happy enough with our single section in the 3 months we have had it, that I just ordered a second section to make the longer beam, while still being able to move and store the pieces easily.Update: second beam made it more practical for her to work on. Velcro at joint is adequete and there is very little seam, but it isn't going to be perfectly flush. Storage is easy and we have just been folding it in two and putting it in the corner, which allows us to use the room for other things and not have a beam taking up space.

You’ll need 2
We bought two of these brand new from Amazon and found 2 more used in our local area. Our daughters, 4 and 7, use these floor beams daily and have really improved on their balance as they get more practice at home.We really like how portable and soft these floor beams are. We set these up in our small living room area and fold them up at the end of the day when cleaning up.You’ll definitely want to order at least two if your child will be practicing cartwheels, rolls, or anything remotely similar to what a gymnastics gym will have them do.
